One more day ..

1 more day left before I fly back to Singapore instead of X ... a unexpected turn of event ... I end up taking the same flight back as WA ... could never have predicted this 3 months back when me and WA booked our tickets ..

Comment from my buddy ....`we go musuem till we are scared and sick !` I agree also !! There is too much ink n culture and paintings in the museums ! ( btw we went four today ! ) We are simply not up to it ...we even got snooked into gg to the THE BALL IS ROUND exhibit at paragon museum thinking it is soccer ... in fact its some abstract rubbish abt sphere ! We oso got snooked into gg a exhibition ( and having to pay 4 euros ) at the German Historical Museum .. WA said that cost him 2 mugs of quality beer !

Going to good old Frankfurt tomolo and loitering around the city area and den its off to dear old lovely Singapore at 2355 !!!!

Went to the East Side Gallery for some street art and wall souveniors ...left my mark there also :p

Tat was the last stop of the day ...before that we really drained by the inspirational Jewish Museum .. got lots n lots stuff to see even for a person like me ... but one thing happened in the museum that will forever become a joke .... I was showing WA how to read some Hebrew words ..and suddenly a old lady asked if I was a JEW...being a Jew is a race !!! Its like asking a Indian if he is a chinese !!!!!!!!


Last real day of my tour ...tomolo will be spending 4 + hrs travelling to Frankfurt and den another 12 hrs on the planes to Singapore .. after that den will touch down in HOME SWEET HOME !! Man ..I really missed home ...

Will be back minimun of 1 week but if there is no connection to X from Frankfurt ...will need to fly back later ...hee hee......

After one night of jungle training in Lollis Homestay in Dresden ... Elephant teeth lights , tree lamp , cave men paintings , ancient sculptures and titu .... we made it to Berlin in one piece ...did not become a piece of Dresden furniture ... show u all the photos of the jungle room when we come back ...

We also tried to finish a pork knuckle that is larger than my feet !!! Grossed out !! No more Tek Kar for the rest of the year !!

Berlin's original walking tour is not bad , chop chop give us a brief introduction of where the various attractions and museums are ... even brought us to the non-exisitant Hilter bunker .. the whole walkinmg tour lasted 4 hours ...we lost them after 3.5 hours due to the crowd at the Freschimeter street . There are 2 ppl of note in the tour grp ( other than 2 handsome young singaporean guys of course ! ) . We met one singaporean plant manager who recogniyed us by our dressing and accents ... even exchanged namecards with him ...we met a very knowledgable 'ah du-neh' uncle who kept on adding info to what the tour guide is trying to tell us , he also asks alot of qn and even challenge the tour guide knowledge of the history of Berlin . So much so tat one of the burly American asked him to SHUT UP in his face !!!! As usual , ah-du shut up immediately and behaved like a very nice child Ö .

After the tour , we made our way to the Berlin Olympic stadium and soaked in the post world cup atmosphere ( and made us of the toilet ...3 Euro for going into an empty stadium ..surely we must make full use of it right ?) . And guess what we took 50+ photos at the stadium ....

Finally finished downloading the photos onto the pod and now off to the museums and gates and shopping !!

Dresden ..nice Saxon place ..but den Saxon is something we dun really know ..we just walk ard the place snap photos and appreciate the beauty of the buildings and traces of Soviet communism ... and get drenched in the process

Yesternight we went back to the restuarant in front of our hostel for dinner after our walking tour of the WHOLE of Prague old town ... I decided to order a Spare rib for dinner becoz its not served when we had dinner yesterday ....Wei An also decided to follow me as I have to wait 40 mins for the dish...

After 40 mins , the chef took out our dinner and our eyes buldged at the siye of the 2 monsters...it was so heavy tat the chef's hands were trembling ! But some how we managed to finish 1kg of spare ribs each ...yes i did not typed wrongly ... 1 kilo of spareribs each..... Sim more fierce he managed to down 1 litre of beer also ..i oni managed 400ml of Czech coke ...what we feel like during the dinner ? We feel like carnivores !!!!!!!!grrr...

NO MORE RIBS FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS !!!

Last day in Praha ...

Last day in Praha ..also the last day of hot sun and Oakleys ... according to the weather forecast it is supposed to be all cloudy n gloomy from tomolo onwards ( yeah ! )

Yesterday we probably had the best and cheapest meal of our trip so far ... We Ann had 2 beers , a pork chop ...I had a virgin purse and a beer with tips for oni S$30 in total ... it is just in front of our hostel ..another plus point it is call ...we forgot the name liao ..tonight gg to photo the restuarant .

Yesternight ..as my buddy is dead asleep like a pig ...while almost falling into sleep i heard TWO shotgun shots ..dun know if it is from a TV next door or it is from a gang fight downstairs ...u dun want to know .... quickly close the window n try to sleep ...anyway according to WA ...as we are 5 floors up unless the guy is aiming at us and using a super powerful shotgun we should be safe ...

Prague ....

Prague ..the city tat is pretty and really look like a watercolor painting BUT it is also a city of spider webs and ppl with f^&k up attitudes. We are oni here for like less than 24 hrs and we met 2 czech with attitude and a "chopper" .

Yesternight , the waiter who served us took longer than my grandmother to take our orders , bring our beer ( as if he needs to brew it ) but he is damn quick in bringing our bill with automode in adding 10% to our bill when he took my card to swipe .With this sort of service he still expect service ? Short of asking him to eat shit n die , asked him balantly why I must pay service . He was stunned ... as if .....

Just now on the way to one of the churches , on the street a young punk took out a 5krc and dropped it onto the ground like we are beggers . Luckily it happened on Weian's side ..else I will become Neved and kick his coin onto the road . .

As for the chopper no choice ... we went to change some Krc ...w/o telling the guy lowered the rate to 21.39 in stead of the 28 ...this one we cannot complain becoz we should have withdraw from the ATM instead ....
Really made me look at Czech in another day ..pretty on the outside and rotten on the inside ....

Today ....my partner will be in sole charge of this entry ...here he comes ....

Today, we went to a very very high class cafe, Demel but the cake is really nice but not the kopi. The kopi for 4.3 Euro taste horrible.

Okay ...maybe he is shy ...or have finger problems ... tat is all his contribution for this post . One thing about European keyboards ... the Z and the Y swap places n also u have to press a special ALT key to get the '@' sign.... very mahuan....anyway today is a hell of a hot day ...luckily I am in Bermudas and Tee but my good friend tot today maybe cold and is about the oni person in jeans and tee in the whole of vienna ....

Good news for the fans of Tai&Sim .... so far we have taken more than 2G of photos ...which means I have to activate my ipod soon...( 2G = at least 2000 photos ) ...now we are in a internet cafe a stone throw away from Opera house within snipe distance of Burger King....waiting to transfer 1 G of photos into my portable HDD .... charges by the minute ...LPPL ....

Speaking of burger king ..... last night while in the deliusion of hunger ..some one mistake Burg Kino for Burger King .... made me run for nothing ... I will not name that some one ..... and what did we end up eating ? A kebab tat is so horrible tat Sim swear never to eat kebab again ...ohya we oso got a free show during dinner ...some punk ger was trying to buy drug from a dealer ....

We made it ....

Because our room is one train stop outside Salzburg old town ...to go back / come back we need to take a train ( the S2 actually ) which is not included in the Salzburg card ... each trip cost 1,1 euro ! becoz os tat we decided to cheat the integrity system here ... Until yest night no conductor on the train...BUT on our ride back to the room last night , there was a conductor ...luckily there is a family who delayed the conductor from reaching us till our stop is reached ...we jumped off the train ( literally !) when the train stopped else we will be fined 60 euros..quite an adenture and we were damn lucky ...

Day number 6

Luckily we arranged to go the Mirabell Gardens in the morning where there is sun ..weather here changes so fast ! Nowits all dark n gloomy ...almost freezed on the Salzburg river cruise...but den think we completed Salzburg ..even to the cheesy Mozart Birthplace we went ...and its a waste of time ...

One special happening ...now I know why Mrs Tan dun like Koreans .... they take hell of a long time to bath ( especially the ladies ) luckily there is only ONE korean lady next door ..but den she takes hell of a long time to bath ..so long that our bladders almost burst waiting for her ..think we waited 30 mins for her to finish her bath.. morning oso she takes hell of a long to do her stuff.......

Now at the ISIS internet waiting to for our 1405 train to Wien .. hope weather stay this way ...

Day Five in Europe...

Actually this post is a update of day 4 and day 5 ... but we have to add in one more incident of our last day in Munich ...after logging off and going back to check into our 2 men heaven, we went for dinner att he world famous HofBrahaus ..damn big place ..BUT we have to sit next to a pair of Americans ..they were smoking cigars and living in a world of their own ...they asking if we paly golf and also one of them check if we 'speak a little English' and the unltimate ? After telling them for the umpteem time ... they still though that we ( Singapore ) is a state in Thailand or Malaysia ....... and also they are more tiko than us .... 40+ years old men more tiko than 2 young handsome charming suave boys .... not a very fun dinner to say the least ....

And yesterday after freeying our butt off in Konigsee and The Berchtesgaden saltmine ...we had to spent 30 minutes + in the dark cold night of rainy Salzburg climbing up the knn at least 70degree slope with our full pack ..... think I almost died ...... and worst of all ? After finding the palce ...we found a note from the owner telling us that she is out ! And we have to 'turn around look for a grey house in the dark'...but den its another experience for us ...sharing toilet and the next door japanese woman likes to sing in the shower ..... never trust that website again ....suposed to be a 5 minutes walk ... more like a 30 minutes torture ...

But today is nice .... so far till we need to go abck to our room after the tour ard Salyburg old town .... today is a Austrian public holiday ! Which means our bus shcedule is out of sync .... we have to wait 1+ hour at the Salyburg haufpanof for our train abck tot there was a train at 755 instead we can oni take the 855 train ...hence we are here blogging ...

Day number 3 ...

The day I almost saw stars and flashes of my childhood ... the trek up to the stupid ( but beautiful looking ) Neu-something-stein and the hon-something is hell of a tiring ! But luckily we caught the 1st guided tour hence we dun need to queue up in the cold cold weather to buy the tickets so tat we can go up the mountain to see the steins and maybe step on some horse shit .

But seriously speaking ( to quote Weian ... the castles are beautiful ) but Wei An is a strange guy ...he say the lork cock Hoe-something is nicer than the Neu-somthing ...maybe he saw a babe there or something like tat ...

Okie we are rushing off liao ... tomolo gg to Berchetesgaden ..morning have to wake up again ... and waking up earli to catch the 1st train is the CORRECT choice ..although my partner grumbles abt it he is convinced by it today when we saw the long long long queue in teh rain when we come down from the mountain

One more thing ...today we also ate the hardest bread of our life ..so hard that my temples ache from chewing the roti !

Day 2 ....

There is a female roomie with us ! Luckily she came back 10 minutes later else will see Wei an nice underwear ! The 2 ang mohs slept earlier thane me ... but teh earliest to sleep is Mr Sim ....knn ...was snoring before I even finished my strecthing ! The guy who sleeps above me ..well dun know where the hell he went ...he oni came back at 530am ! But den bad luck for him becoz our alarm clock went off at 640 so tat we can catch the sumpstous buffet breakfast ...ya ...never know that rock hard crossiant taste so good ....

Went to DaChau concentration camp .... quite a sobering visit ..went to Maria( the servent ? ) platz and teh surrounding area in the afternoon ...the most memorable part of the afternoons trip ? I think I almost died climbing up the 306 stes of St Peter..... Decide to reward myself with a nice dinner later at Augsutiner ..again ... need pork to keep alive ....

Day 1 ....

Almost did not make it for day one ..because the security check at the Tel Aviv Airport was so tight that we reached airport at 3am and we oni cleared everything at 440am ! 50 minutes before the planes flew off !! But den I make it in time and its a breeye to meet up wei an at the airport he is not so stupid ...he applied his common sense and met me at the baggage claims ...

After searching for 10 + mins at the haufpanof we finally made it to the Meinenger Hostel... clean and nice but we decided to upgrade to a 2 men room...oni have a 2 men room onm Sun night so we have to make do and maybe have adventure or free show these 2 nights .

Went to Olympic stadium and alos to the Alllieny Arena ..there was a match for Munich and Bortmmund on today but we did not mange to get any tickets ....... so we tooks lotsa photos and maybe we are coming back tom evening

Had dinner at Augustiner Brahaus ,shared table with a couple from canada and another from Aust...fun talkers they are ....and a nice meal after a cold wet and make that very COLD day !!

okay GTG !! Oni free 10 mins at the internet stations today

Its almost time ! Oni 10 more hours to go before I get on the flight LH 691 n leave this country for 2 weeks . Fortunately Wee Ann did not hand itchy and take the Quantas flight that stops over at London which had uncovered a terrorist plot today but now there is no flights out of and into London ..earliest flight outta London is on the 13th ..
If he took the London transit flight ...I will be touring Muich on my own ....make it freezing in Muich ...

One week to go !! Hurray !! By next time this week ...my bags would have been packed . Fridge all cleaned out and asleep in bed with my alarm clock set for 0230 am 11-Aug-2006 where the taxi will come and pick us up ... that is assuming there is no more escalation in the sitiation up north or south or east for that matter ...

2 Weeks In Europe

Finally it is August ! In less than 10 days time and I will be setting off for my first backpacking trip in Europe for 2 weeks with my friend Sim Wee Ann...hmm maybe can rename this blog as BrokeBack Mountain 2006 .... Anyway because I need to check my email everyday , due to the fact that if things get worse the ppl here maybe asked to stay in Singapore till things get better , might as well start a blog which I can update everyday to keep a record of my 2 weeks travelling from Frankfurt to Berlin via Munich ,Salzburg, Vienna and Prague . No sense starting a blog that I can only update before I go and after my adventures ends right ? Might as well upload my photos at the end of the trip and send a email at the begining of the trip .
